Taking the Cat for a Walk

Kat decided that we should try and train Harry on a lease. That way we could take him camping with us and get him outside a little. Off course, he’s not too fond of this, and gets completely skittish every time we take him even out onto the front porch.

Kat bought me this Nikon lens mug a while ago. It’s a pretty cool concept, and looks exactly like a real lens. (Customs even called Kat to ask if she knew that the lens she ordered online was hollow.)

I finally upgraded my pots and pans that I’ve had forever to something decent: a Cuisinart stainless steel set with aluminum core. (I’d love a copper set, but can’t see myself spending several thousand dollars on pots and pans.)

One of my favorite TV shows is Seinfeld, and one of the classic episodes finds the crew having trouble trying to buy a chocolate babka at a New York bakery. When I found a recipe for babka in one of my books, I had to give it a shot. Turns out, it’s terrible for you (filled with egg yolks, sugar, and chocolate) but so delicious.
